File a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a department of the Federal Trade Commission, against SimpleBills. They will have 15 business days to respond, else the government will launch an investigation into the company on your behalf. You may do so at https://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

If you believe that SimpleBills has charged you an incorrect amount, or something you are not liable for, it is your right to dispute the charge with your credit card company. Simply call the number on the back of your credit card and say you would like to dispute the charge with SimpleBills.com.

If you are a resident of California, you are able to request all your personal data and any use of your data by 3rd parties, by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. This is an extensive process that will allow you to see all that SimpleBills knows about you.

Take action by complaining to your landlord about SimpleBills.com. Request that they switch away from SimpleBills or at least allow you to pay your utilities directly to your provider.
